National Legislators’ Conference Bharat (NLC Bharat) will be an avenue for Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) and Members of Legislative Councils (MLCs) across the nation to gather for the first time in one place and exchange ideas in this historic conference. Hon’ble Speakers of Lok Sabha (Former) and current Speakers of Legislative Assemblies have come together to build this conference which will take place in Mumbai from 15th to 17th June 2023.

MLAs and MLCs would get a unique opportunity to interact with a diverse group of legislators from all states and Union Territories. The conference will be conducted, keeping cross-learning and enhancement of legislative effectiveness at its core.

A Non-Partisan Ecosystem
The legislators would have experiential learnings and thematic discussions through a mix of thoughtfully curated large-format plenary sessions, parallel brainstorming breakout sessions, a showcase of their state pavilions and best practices, and various other sessions with acclaimed global and national leaders.
NLC Bharat envisions a non-partisan ecosystem to promote education, training, skill development and capacity enhancement, interstate and international cooperation of legislators and legislative staff to advance effectiveness and independence of legislative bodies by fostering democratic values and practices of good governance.
Focus Areas & Framework
Create an institutional framework for sustained activities to empower the State legislatures, improve the connection between State Legislatures and civil society, conduct research and evaluation, and foster interstate and international cooperation amongst State Legislatures.
